First-generation Toyota Yaris (1999-2005)

Vitz or Yaris replaced the Toyota Starlet as a small hatchback from Toyota. Concept car named Funtime first exhibited at the auto show in Frankfurt, Germany at the end of 1997 Vitz name used officially only in Japan. In Europe the car was known as the Yaris, and in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and some Asian countries are named Echo Hatchback

The machine used is a 1000 cc 1SZ-FE, 2SZ-FE and 2NZ-FE 1300 cc or 1,500 cc 1NZ-FE petrol. 1ND-TV diesel engine 1400 cc only available in Europe. 

In Japan, the Vitz is available in trim levels B, F, U, Clavia, and RS. Clavia is a model of classical style, while RS is the sporty model. Vitz RS comes with a mesh grille, body kit, and a sporty interior. Cars similar to Vitz RS called Yaris T-Sport in Europe, Echo RS in Canada, or Echo Sportivo in Australia.
