Indonesia Will Export Cars Translucent Rp 117 Trillion

TEMPO.CO, Nay Pyi Taw - Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi said Indonesian car exports will double to $ 10 billion (Rp 117 trillion) in the next three years. (Read: Flood Thailand, Indonesia Blessing) 

Exports of automotive products, said Lutfi, Indonesia will change the position of a seller of raw materials and intermediate goods into a producer of high-tech goods. "The automotive industry will be the main export products of Indonesia," said Lutfi told Tempo on the sidelines of the ASEAN Economic Ministers' Meetings in Myanmar. Exports were supported automotive manufacturers increase production capacity in Indonesia. Lutfi said the growth in car production in Indonesia is very rapid. In the past, he said, to achieve the production of 1 million units it took 40 years. But this time the actual production of 2 million units expected to be achieved by 2020.

Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) vehicle export record intact (completely built-up / CBU) reached 105 251 units in January-July last. This figure grew 7.56 percent over the same period last year. 

Highest exports in March were 20 256 units. While there are lows in July, which reached 12 667 units. To export the vehicle in the form of biodegradable (completely knocked down / CKD), an increase of 3.86 percent. In January-July last, in the form of CKD vehicle exports reached 63,750 units.
