Antonov An-22 Antei (Russian: Антей Antaeus) (NATO code "Cock") was the heaviest aircraft wings (high wing) in the world, until the emergence of the C-5 Galaxy from the American and An-124 from the Soviet Union. Powered by four turboprop engines each of which is controlled by a pair of propeller rotates counterclockwise, this design is still the world's largest turboprop aircraft. His first appearance outside the Soviet Union in 1965 at the Paris Air Show.
Before the introduction of the C-5 Galaxy, the An-22 Antei (Antheus) is the largest aircraft in the world, and until now the largest turboprop-powered aircraft to date.
