Karting Racing is generally accepted as the most economic form of motorsport available. As a leisure activity, can be performed by almost anybody, and as a motor sport, it is one of the sports regulated by FIA (under CIK), which allows for anyone licensed racing from the age of 8 years and above

Kart racing is usually used as a low-cost and relatively safe to introduce to the motor racing drivers. Many people associate it with young drivers, but adults are also very active in karting. Karting is considered the first step in a serious racer's career. It can prepare the driver for high-speed wheel-to-wheel racing by helping develop quick reflexes, mobpengambilan decisions and skill. In addition, it brings awareness of the various parameters that can be altered to try to improve the competitiveness of the kart (examples due to tire pressure, gearing, seat position, chassis stiffness) that also exist in other forms of motor racing
Now all or many former Formula One drivers grew up racing karts, most prominent among them Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton. Many NASCAR drivers started their careers from karts, such as Darrell Waltrip, Lake Speed, Ricky Rudd, Juan Pablo Montoya, Tony Stewart, and Jeff Gordon.

Besides traditional kart cars, many commercial companies offering rental karts, often called go-kart "recreational" or "concession". The tracks can be indoor or outdoor. Rental karts one session (in Indonesia usually 5 minutes, in Europe usually 10 to 15 minutes), they use sturdy frame fitted with special body protection for driver safety. Most of these companies use a format "Come and drive" and provide customers with all the safety gear (helmet, gloves and clothing driver) and allow them to come any time to race at affordable prices, without the hassle of having to have their own equipment and equipment.

Outdoor tracks can offer low speed karts strictly for amusement (dedicated chassis equipped with low powered 4-stroke engines or electric motors), to faster, more powerful karts similar to a racing kart (powered by 4-stroke engines up to 15 hp and more rarely by 2-stroke engines), but is designed to be more robust for rental use. Typically, these outer tracks can also be used for traditional kart races. 
Indoor kart tracks can be found in many major cities around the world. These tracks are often located in refurbished factories or warehouses and are typically shorter than traditional outdoor tracks. Indoor karts are usually powered by a 4-stroke gasoline engine producing anywhere 5-13 horsepower, or sometimes by an electric motor. Many tracks offer competitive races and leagues. At the top level, Indoor Karting World Championship (IKWC)  there. There are nearly 80 indoor kart tracks in the United States.
