Flexible fuel vehicles
Flexible fuel vehicle or dual-fuel vehicle is an alternative fuel vehicle with a combustion engine which is designed to use more than one type of fuel, usually gasoline blended with ethanol or methanol. The machines of modern flexible fuel can use fuel with whatever mixture in the space fuel injection and a spark because it is set automatically by an electronic sensor. Flexible fuel vehicles different from bi-fuel vehicles, which both gasoline stored in two different tanks and engines only burn one type of fuel are at work, such as CNG, LPG, or hydrogen.

Alternative fuel vehicles
Alternative fuel vehicle is a vehicle that can operate using fuels other than fuel oil "traditional" (gasoline or diesel); and also refers to all sorts of engine technologies that do not operate with gasoline, for example, electric cars, hybrid electric vehicles or solar energy vehicles. Due to a combination of several factors, such as environmental concerns, high oil prices, to their development of alternative fuels that are more environmentally friendly, the development of alternative fuel vehicles has become a major priority for the government and auto manufacturers in many countries in the world.
VW Gol 1.6 Total Flex 2003 was the first car of flexible fuel that can run on any mix of gasoline with ethanol.
Hybrid electric vehicles such as the Toyota Prius is not really an alternative fuel vehicle, but because of the advanced technology on the electric battery, the car can use fuel with very efficiently. Research and development effort focused on energy alterantif other battery electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles.
