Station Wagon

Station wagon is a form of car-based sedan rear roof extended down to the top of the trunk. This makes the space station wagon together with the passenger space. Thus the station wagon has a D pillar on the rear end. Station wagons in general have a baggage door that opens up like a hatchback, but there also has doors opening to the bottom and the window can be opened separately.

Differences station wagon and hatchback

Although both have doors that open up the trunk and trunk space that blends with the passenger, station wagon and hatchback have a difference in the number of pillars and the luggage capacity. Station wagon has a longer rear overhang that the trunk space is longer and wider. Station wagons have considerable side window between the C-pillar and D-pillar, while the hatchback does not have a side window or a small window just as an ornament.

Other names Station wagon

In many countries public station wagon was also called Estate, called combi in Germany, and in France called Break. 

Some vehicle manufacturers also give a special name for a station wagon.
