For the 2006 model year, the Legacy 2.5GT spec.B highly skilled sold in America in a limited number of 500 units. This car has made Bilstein suspension which makes it more stable. Legacy 2.5 GT Spec B mass-produced for the next year to get a 6-speed manual transmission is smooth and responsive, SI-Drive, or Subaru Intelligent-Drive which has 3 modes of the "Sport", "Sport Sharp", and "Intelligent", as well as interior with leather and alcantara combination upholstery.

Legacy gets a facelift for 2008 with a grille, front bumper, and a new front fender. Models limited edition high caliber STI S402 only 402 units were made for the Japanese market. In the United States the Legacy Station Wagon and Outback Sedan no longer sold and made only for the Legacy Sedan and Outback Wagon only. At this year's American Legacy 3.0R Limited have a 6-cylinder engine with 3000 cc DOHC.
Legacy is the latest technology for Eye Sight where the sensor on the rear-view mirror to monitor the situation around and provide information to the driver.
